Lisa completed her Doctorate degree in Educational Administration from Duquesne University. She completed her master’s degree in School Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania. Her primary research interest consists of supporting girls through evidenced based programs that improve girls’ self-esteem and enhance their Social Emotional Learning competencies. Professionally, Lisa has been working full-time as a School Counselor in a public-school setting. Furthermore, Dr. Mumau teaches in the Psychology Departments at Westmoreland County Community College and Point Park University.
Lisa is licensed as a Professional Counselor and has extensive experience working not only in a school setting with children and their families, but also in a community setting as a Licensed Behavioral Specialist and a Licensed Mobile Therapist. Most recently, Lisa has delivered counseling and consulting services for children and families experiencing divorce, separation, and custody related challenges. Lisa serves children, adolescents, young adults, and families struggling in the following areas: Anxiety, Depression, Anger and Stress Management, Attention and Concentration Concerns, Grief & Loss, Academic Struggles, Career Uncertainty, Parent/Child/Partner Relationship Concerns, Family Counseling, Co-parenting, and Teen Issues: Relational Aggression, Peer Pressure, and Esteem Challenges.
Lisa employs a blend of therapeutic treatments for her clients, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Based Therapy, and various psycho-educational programming.
